Cape Verdean Heritage Series Convocation
Two speakers will speak on our theme of "Listening to the Past, Speaking to the Future." Tem Blessed is a hip-hop artist and a member of the rap group "Busted Fro. He is also a youth organizer and he has worked with such organizations as Youth Build, a GED program teaching teamwork, leadership skills and critical thinking to the youth. Aminah Fernandes Pilgrim is a professor at UMASS-Boston in the Africana Studies Department. She is presently writing a dissertation on immigrants of the African diaspora in New England.

"Bisexuality, Feminism, Men & Me"
A lecture and discussion with Robyn Ochs
Wilson 101, 7:00 p.m.
How are homosexual relationships different from heterosexual relationships? This
provocative talk explores some of the intersections between the personal and the
political, covering topics from body image to social sex role conditioning to
heterosexual privilege. People of all genders and sexual orientations are
welcome.

April 13-17
Africana Film Festival
Brown will present an Africana Film Festival April 13 to 17 at Cable Car
Cinema, 204 So. Main St.  The festival will feature 15 films from 12
countries, as well as 12 filmmakers, writers and critics from six countries
participating in panel discussions on a wide range of topics related to film
making and identity in global Africana cultures. Tickets are $5 for general
admission and $3 for students; festival passes for eight films are $20 for
general admission and $15 for students.  Tickets will be on sale at the
Cable Car box office beginning April 6. For more information and a full
