1) -ISM Workshops

- MPCs will work together as a region to plan these events once a semester for their region of first years. This will help MPCs to be more supported by their fellow MPCs in planning these programs and putting them together. These workshops can be discussions, activities, or social events w/ educational value (ie. video). Possible workshops are in binders which can be found in Anne Marie’s Office. In addition, part of fall training will include learning about the different workshops. MPCs are encouraged to utilize outside resources to conduct the workshops. All workshops require approval a MPCC

2) Resource Info Sessions

- MPCs will take their mentoring groups to these info sessions. They are a way for MPCs to reach out to students of color who did not attend TWTP, as well as those who did. Info sessions could be about summer opportunities, internships, fellowships, and grants for students of color, information on Swearer Center programs, the Writing Center, and Career Development Office, professors/administrators/staff of color, admissions officers, and alumni discussing opportunities for first years. It's important to note that while some of these info sessions may involve bringing someone to speak to the region, others may simply involve telling students of color in your region that you are planning to go as a group to a session.
