When they met at Oxford University two decades ago, Cory Booker and Shmuley Boteach became unlikely friends. The young Baptist from New Jersey and Oxford’s Rabbi discovered a deeply shared belief in the power of diversity and tolerance to influence meaningful change. Later,as Rabbi Shmuley created the second largest student society in Oxford’s history, Mayor Booker became the president of the Jewish organization becoming the first non-Jewish president ever of a major Jewish student organization. Together they hosted personalities of the character of Mikhail Gorbachev and electrified Oxford with programs designed to inculcate values-based leadership. Now, as the mayor of Newark and ‘the most famous Rabbi in America’, the two continue to share a friendship and a passion for social change. Join them for a discussion of faith, community, and how to find meaning through social responsibility. Spots still available
