The Brown ACLU Banned Film Festival
In the past few years the Brown ACLU has concentrated it's main efforts on
defending civil liberties on campus. In an effort to expand to more
national issues, the Brown chapter has decided to throw a banned film
festival. Our banned film festival will serve a twofold purpose. First,
we hope to use it as an educational tool. We feel that a film festival
would be a fun way to educate the Brown community about Censorship.
Another aim of the film festival is to send the message that censorship
will not be tolerated. Is there a better way to combat censorship, than to
expose the censored book, movie, idea to as many people as possible; the
very thing the censors are trying to prevent.
So spit in the face of censorship and come to the Brown ACLU's film
festival. Look for signs of the festival towards the end of the semester.
