3 Big Things we are focusing on before Spring Break: Film Fest, David Cole,
and PA Resolution
Everything else (like Brown Police Forum and working on the website) will be done after break
David Cole
-March 10th, Salomon 101
-Will cost $500 in transportation and housing fees
-Tristan found out that we will get $800 from the Lecture Board which puts us in good shape
-Publicityill Poster and Table slip the week of.
-Tristan has made a poster/slip already
-Dates for tabling in the P.O: 9th and 10th
-will overlap with tabling for P.A. Resolution.
Patriot Act Resolution
-Ella talked to UCS person (Emily Blatter); She wants to know our modus operandi for the resolution
-Ella will email her with the resolution as we want to present it---will run it by Tristan and mike before though.
-Our reasoning for doing it:
-Brown UCS has done political stuff like this before (gay marriage)
-Over 40 other colleges have passed resolutions against PA
-we.re not going for a reaction from the university, like ARA.
-Providence the city has already passed an act saying they won.t abide by
the Patriot Act
Publicity for the Resolution
-Tabling to get people to sign the petition and indirectly recruit people to help. Will be done March 9-11 in the PO, possibly the 14th and 15th too.
-Also will have quick facts to hand out so people will at least know about the PA
-Will also have the petition at the Film Fest for people to sign
-At the most we.d like a 1000, at the least maybe 500.
-Ella will make Draft of the Proposal, Mike will
make Petition, Tristan will do quick facts.
Film Fest
-Everything should be setedia Services is set up this time, as are rooms and the videos have been reserved at the movie store.
-At this point we are not buying extra popcorn, but we will see how we make out after the first night.
-To have at the Film fest: (will announce these at the beginnings of movies)
-Petition for PA
-Info about issue-related actions, such as Alberto Gonzalez, local stuff in Rhode Island.
-We haven.t decided if we want to have letters with stamps on them yet.

Ella will email people from other colleges outside RI, like Yale, Tufts, as nice gesture, inviting them to David Cole
Tristan will email ACLUs in RI, like J+W, RW, URI and also Steven Brown asking them to come to David Cole.
