Bizarre Bazaar Details

FAQ

What is the Bizarre Bazaar?

The Bizarre Bazaar, or "BizBaz" for short, is an annual auction run by Alpha Delta Phi, a coed literary society at Brown University. Over the years we have raised upwards of a hundred thousand dollars for local charities.

When is the Bizarre Bazaar?

This year BizBaz will be held on Thursday, April 16 in the afternoon from 12:00 to 5:00 on Wriston Quad, in front of the Ratty.

Who does this auction benefit?

The proceeds of the auction will be donated to Summerbridge, a Providence charity that takes disadvantaged middle school students in Providence who want a better education, and gives them mentors and tutoring year-round as well as summer classes. BizBaz provides a substantial percentage of their annual operating budget. Moreover, we're donating a portion of the proceeds from this year's auction to our own literary endowment.

Is my donation tax deductible?

Yes.

Can I still donate an item?

Yes, we'll accept donations until the day of the event. Just fill out this form and contact Helen Pang with any last-minute donations.

Who will be the auctioneer?

The auctioneer this year will be Professor Morone from the Brown Department of Political Science as well as current members of Alpha Delta Phi.

Can I bid on an item even if I can't attend the auction?

Yes. To bid on an item, contact Helen Pang with the item and your bid.
