The 1998 -1999 school year is well underway. Since September our organization has sponsored several events. We would like to thank all those who participated and made our events possible. Certain highlights are noted:

"The Upperclassmen / Underclassmen Social" in Petteruti lounge was a wonderful evening of camaraderie and networking. Students from Brown U., Johnson & Wales U. and RI School of Design enjoyed music, refreshments and each others company to start the year off strong. Special door prizes were handed away in at the end of the night.

"The Clinton Affair: Details and Denials" was an informative and provocative panel discussion. Rev. Theodore Wilson, left-wing supporter: Donald Whittaker and right-wing supporter: Brain Haynes all gave their interpretations of the presidential affair. Bro. Artis Arnold III ¨00 facilitated on the topics of women's rights, media coverage, and minority concerns. Audience members also shared viewpoints in this video-taped forum. The night was capped off by light refreshments and general conversation in Harambee House.

"Orientation Toward Employment: A Panel Discussion" featured representatives from Brown Career Services, Howard Swearer Center for Public Service, Rhode Island Dept. of Labor and Equal Employment Opportunity / Affirmative Action Office. Bro. Russell Malbrough Ü99.5 facilitated on relevant issues to getting employed, negotiating salaries and dealing with discrimination. Information packets were handed out in conclusion.

"Manly Deeds, Scholarship and Love for All Mankind" are the precepts of our dear fraternity. We hope to continue on in the strong tradition that has influenced Providence, RI since 1921. Keep in mind the Alpha week Nov 29-Dec 6, 1998 and the annual cabaret in the spring. Thank you again for the support.
