Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc., a non-profit organization of over 150,000 college educated men, has collectively been involved in community leadership since its founding in 1906. Our name and ideals have been represented and upheld in numerous social, economic, educational and political struggles throughout this century. Some of the most influential men in United States history and American culture such as Martin Luther King Jr., Thurgood Marshall, Duke Ellington and Jesse Owens are men that proudly upheld the traditions of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
Nationally, Alpha Phi Alpha has recently completed a fund raising campaign. We have pledged to donate these funds to the National Urban League, NAACP, and the United Negro College Fund. Locally the Alpha Gamma Chapter has donated time to mentor younger students and develop leadership skills. We are eager to help the larger Rhode Island community with our annual holiday drive collecting clothing, food and toys. Up to date our events have been directed towards educational forums, employment lectures and conferences for students from Brown, Johnson & Wales, and Rhode Island School of Design.
We are asking for your patronage for the 25th Annual Spring Cabaret to be held in April at Brown University. Each year we print a souvenir advertisement booklet. This is an ideal forum to reach a college age customer base. An advertisement form and list of prices are on the reverse side of this letter. We would appreciate responses prior to April 1, 1999. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call (401) 863-6015. Please be reminded that money donated to our organization is tax-deductible.
We sincerely appreciate those who have supported us in the past. Those of you who may advertise for the first time, we shall be most grateful to serve you.
