"The African American Fraternity on the College Campus: History and Evolution Alpha Phi Alpha at Brown University" by Bro. M. Rodney Robinson is our most recent document of Alpha Gamma History. The chapter is currently collecting information to update this document.
"Many men have received the inspiration for their life's work from their association and contacts in their fraternity. Fraternities of today are endeavoring to admit the highest type of men. It is much harder for a member to stay in a fraternity than it is to enter."

"The real height of the pyramids is not measured between the base and the capstone, but includes hundreds of feet of solid masonry below. Those that reach to the heavens are held firmly in place by the strength of their foundation." (p.151 What Makes the Great Great; Kimbro)
12. When did you know Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. was the right choice for you?
13. Was there a particular event, feeling or brother that inspired you?
"One of my greatest concerns is that in this hostile business climate, many blacks who are in a position to help others are hunkering-down and isolating themselves. I see a lot of younger blacks who are either not aware of their racial history or simply do not feel compelled to acknowledge that they have a responsibility to share their gifts. They feel they have somehow graduated from their blackness."
Bro. Earl G. Graves (Founder & Editor of Black Enterprise Magazine)
(p. 42 How To Succeed In Business Without Being White)
According to the US Census Bureau, the Black community consists of "an estimated 34.5 million people as of Nov. 1, 1998. It comprised 13 percent of the total population." (US Census Bureau Public Information Office; Jan. 13, 1999)
14. How have your actions as a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. lived up to the mission statement in assisting Black people in the US?
"To the youths who march onward and upward towards the light this volume is respectfully dedicated."
Dedication in A Development in College Life: The History of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc Charles H. Wesley, Ph.D.(1925)
"The nation's African American population is young, with an estimated median age of 30.0 years as of Nov. 1, 1998 five years younger than the median for the US population as a whole." (US Census Bureau Public Information Office; Jan. 13, 1999)
15. What do you see Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. playing a role in shaping the lives of people in college and younger?
16. "Manly Deeds, Scholarship, and Love for All Mankind" are the precepts of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. Can you give examples of each since you became a brother?
17. Can you make comparisons between the similarities and differences the pre-dominately White co Greek Letter Organization and Black Greek Letter Organization?
18. Some people feel the impact of Greek Letter Organizations is fading. How do you feel about the future of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.? How do you feel about the future of Alpha Gamma chapter?
