Past Events 2004-2005

Brown annual film festival. Tuesday May 3rd and Thursday May 5th. Wilson 102. Such movies as the Killing Fields and Hotel Rwanda, Dead Man Walking and the Life of David Gale.

Jamnesty focused on US involvement in torture. April 26, 2005: evening in Hourglass Cafe. Topics are exported torture (eg Maher Arar), the torture trade, and torture in US facilities (Iraq, Afghanistan, Guantanamo, etc).

Earth Day Festival. Wednesday 20 April 2005: Lincoln Field. Tabling about Bhopal, India. Pictures from Earth Day:

Tabling for Darfur. We tabled in the P.O. on March 3, 2005 and March 7, 2005. We had letters to RI senators, representatives, members of the UN security council, and blank letters urging these people to speak about about the genocide and support the legislation (S.495) about Darfur. Holiday Card Action. Human Rights Day: 10 December 2004. We made Holiday Cards to prisoners of conscience in the Upper Blue Room during the day (with glitter).

Action for Bhopal Day. December 3, 2004 Post Office. Petition to Dow. Petition to Gaur. Ryan from Students for Bhopal helped us out alot with this event. Here is more informaton: Students for Bhopal Site

Northeast Regional Conference. It was on November 13, 2004. We went on the bus!
