Tuesday Invisible Children Screening. 17 October in Wilson 102 at 9pm. Invisible Children is a documentary recorded in 2003 based on the experiences of three college students in Northern Uganda. They went to Uganda to see what they could film, and they found thousands of people affected by the insurgency of the Lord's Resistance Army (LRA). The resulting story focuses on the war's effects on children, particularly child soldiers.

Wednesday Courtney Spence will be speaking on 18 October at 7pm in Salomon 202. Ms Soence heads an NGO called Students of the World, which helps college students get involved in raising public awareness and activism on social issues affecting international communities. She will talk about how college students can contribute to helping end the conflict in Northern Uganda.

Thursday Uganda Rising Screening. Movie produced by GuluWalk Organizers. October 19th in MacM 115 at 9pm.

Saturday Every night in northern Uganda, thousands of "night commuters," children aged 3-17, walk up to ten miles from their homes to sleep in town centers for "safety by numbers" from the rebel Lord's Resistance Army, who abduct and force children into soldiering or sexual slavery. On October 21st, we along with tens of thousands of people across the globe will participate in GuluWalk Day 2006, a sympathy walk mimicking the journey of the night commuters in northern Uganda. We will also be camping out on the main green after walking around the Providence area. Our walk will start at 9pm from the Faunce Steps.

Sarah, Andrea and Jenny did a late night Gate Shift benefiting our group on Friday 13 October. Thanks to all of them!
