BACH Glossary

These are the words that make up our lives and our sharing.

Bachanalia - (n.) The alumni newsletter that we send out when we get the chance. Back issues are available here.

GC - (adj.) General Consumption. Something that anyone in the co-op can freely use. If it is a resusable thing, it should be returned to the house in the condition that is was found. If it is food, it should be in your belly.

House Job - (n.) The two-hours-a-week ball-and-chain that every BACHer's got to do in order to earn her keep. A growing listing of house jobs is available here.

Master Plan - (n.) Begun by long-time co-oper Kevin Novell in 2004, a mission for all BACHers to develop closer ties with alumni both in order to foster a stronger sense of cultural continuity and to provide for BACH's financial stability in the future. This website is a crucial element of it. Maintaining the master plan should be at least one person's house job at all times.

NGC - (adj.) Not for General Consumption. Something, clearly labeled and dated, that is reserved for someone in particular. It is off limits to everybody else. If something is not labeled, or an unreasonable amount of time has passed upon it, it is understood to be GC.
