Housing
Shelter is a basic human need, so why not do it in a kind community, where there's always a warm dinner and no boss but yourselves?
Living in one of the BACH houses means that you're a member of our
corporation. Welcome to corporate America. This means that
you'll own your housing situation outright, go to important board
meetings, and get evicted with the rest of us if you don't
do your house job and
the boiler explodes. BACH residents are also expected to participate
in the inexpensive and nutritous food
co-op at their house.
BACH houses are busy. If you like quiet and being really
really alone all the time forget it. There are housemates, food
co-opers, wanderers, and musicians. Turns out this is a good
thing cause it means a lot of wonderful company and fine times.
Applying to live at BACH is easy. We run a lottery at the end of each semester, so make sure to get your name in on that. Come by or send an email if you've got questions. The rent these days is $1950 for a semester, which is really good for the neighborhood. Being a low-cost housing alternative is central to our non-profit mission and we take it very seriously.
Summertime
We also offer summer housing, which is a very good deal.
Full summer housing for June, July and August is available at both
Finlandia and Watermyn. The total rates for the full summer go like this:
For BACH members, it is $700 for a double, $900 for a single.
For non-BACH members, it is $900 for a double, $1100 for a single.
All rents include utilities, laundry, parking, and high speed internet access!
