Bulk
Bulk is the great stuff that brings us low-cost food and a year's supply of the wrong oatmeal. Someone's got to get it.
Lizza Weir:
First of all, you have to have a pretty flexible schedule on the days
that bulk is supposed to arrive. It's best if you can sign up a group
of about 2-3 people who take shifts to be at the co-op on the
afternoon that it's supposed to get there because United Food Co is
anything but punctual...we've waited weeks for our order, in fact. As
soon as it gets in, start checking to be super sure that everything
has arrived! We've definitely gotten charged for missing items in the
past which is a pain, clearly. Then, if possible, recruit people to
help bring boxes inside. Make sure to empty the ice out of all the
boxes of produce that are packed with it...so that it doesn't melt on
the watermyn table. When you get everything inside, use the list to
sort out findy's vs. watermyn's produce and put watermyn's in it's
proper place.
