Food Co-op Treasurer
The Food Treasurer is the gestapo of the food co-op. She makes sure that everybody is all paid up and cracks down on the Fascists when they're spending too much dough.
Brenda Grell, Finlandia 2005:
collecting $$ from everybody (setting up payment plans
and harrassing folks for $$ through out the semester).
payment to BACH of fees from food co-opers per
semester ($35 per co-oper).
Setting and managing the weekly budget of groceries,
milk delivery, new york times bill, and cox
communications bill.
Reimbursing co-opers for what they have purchases for
the house (good to make sure that they run this by the
food treasurer first to prevent supurfious
expenditures).
Doling out checks for bi-weekly shopping trips to
Ralph Calisto, Eastside Marketplace, Asian Markets,
and Mexican Markets (dont ask me where they are
located).
Rapidly paying all bills for Cox, Munroe Dairy, and
New York Times in order to prevent late charges or
angry milk deliveries.
Organizing checking account for W.B. Foods, all bills
from Munroe Dairy, Citizen's Bank, Cox Comm, and New
York Times.
Budgeting to allow for summer Cox and New York Times
bills (~300 to be safe)
Getting more parties which =more $$ for food co-op!!
clear communication with the food facists in order to
prevent over spending and unreasonable purchases.
At the beginning of this job it definitely took me two
hours, but I spread the work out over the week so it
usually takes me about an hour and a half. I usually
do other things like guage the weekly dairy needs,
refrigerate the dairy delivery, etc just to make sure
I am on top of everybody's food needs.
