BOMBS focuses on creating a space for students to explore their individual
identities as people of mixed race through workshops and discussion,
as well as providing a space for political activism and awareness through
talking with others and sharing experiences.
Here's some of the feedback people have shared about
their own personal experiences with BOMBS.
I wish I could’ve come more, but being around
other multiracial people reminded me that I’m not the only one
and that I don’t have to pick one or the other. I loved it!
Before Brown I didn’t know there were other
people who felt like I did. BOMBS has given me a chance to spend time
with lots of other multiracial people and learn to think of biracial/multiracial
as not just an identity but a community. It’s been an amazing
four years.
I didn’t come into BOMBS with the mind frame
that I was multiracial, but I was welcomed as an ally, especially since
most of my friends are a part of BOMBS. The friendships and conversations
I’ve made here, I will cherish my whole life. I only hope in future
years I can continue to come and be a part of this.
BOMBS was a great opportunity to meet and discuss
things with people who were in a very similar situation as I. While
at times it can be frustrating, these people knew exactly what it was
like. I have seen a great improvement in BOMBS this last year, and I
thank Jamie for that. Although I couldn’t always spend as much
time here as I would have liked, every time has been enjoyable. Thanks!
BOMBS has been a great experience for me this year.
I love being able to meet new members every time and learn about their
backgrounds and interests. The Black. White episodes were an awesome
touch. It’s amazing to have this community here every Wednesday.
