11-30-05 BUGS Meeting
Business:
1)Constitution: When you're lying awake with a dismal headache . . .
The Constitution was ratified by an overwhelming majority for the
purposes of us submitting info in time to become a UCS group, with the
understanding that all who are interested should read the attached
version of the Constitution & Bylaws and propose any amendments at our
next meeting (time & place TBA).
2)Next semester's show: and it is, it is a glorious thing to be a
pirate king!
Auditions for The Pirates of Penzance will be this upcoming Tuesday and
Wednesday (the 6th and 7th) details forthcoming from our super-amazing
director of music & the stage, Ron Beimel. Please email
Ronald_Beimel@brown.edu with questions about auditions and ESPECIALLY
if you're interested in behind-the-scenes production work (costumes,
stage management, set design, you name it, we need it!). Anyone
interested in playing in the ORCHESTRA should stay tuned, or email Ron
if you have questions.
3) Elections: With aspect stern and gloomy stride, we come to learn how
you decide . . .
The president and vice president were not up for re-election, but with
that in mind our new board will consist of:
President: Jessica Marquardt
Vice President: Michelle Menard
Treasurer: Malka Key (outgoing: yours truly)
Secretary: Leila Chakravarty (outgoing: my lover! no, my son! more
accurately, Michael Ennis)
Social Chair: Alyssa Mocharnuk-Macchia . . . returns for another
glorious semester! (outgoing: Mirele Davis as co-chair)
Public Relations: Josh Feintuch (outgoing, Zander Ebin)
Webmaster: Jonathan Ichikawa (outgoing, Peter Goldstein)
Archivist: Sam Baltimore (new position this semester)
4) Announcements: I've got a little list . . .
-We need a production staff!
-A bunch of us are going contra dancing tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm in
Leung gallery-- come join us!
5) Required Business: Bound under penalty of death . . .
As per our new Constitution (which stipulates that every meeting shall Êinclude the creation of one useless office to be held until the next Êmeeting and also the condemnation to death of a party of our choosing) Êwe created the office Lord High Grass Clipper to be held by Zander ÊEbin. We agreed to condemn someone to death-- inquire at the next meeting to learn who and also how he or she was miraculously saved by a perfectly executed (ha!) deus ex maquina.
Parting thoughts:
Fare thee well, attractive [former board members] shouldst thou be in
doubt or danger, peril or perplexity, call us and we'll come to thee!
yours humbly,
~Leila
