We only accept director's applications from current Brown students or current RISD students. If you are a Brown or RISD student, please do not be hesitant to apply, even if you have never directed before. We welcome all applications and consider ourselves a group whose purpose includes fun and experimentation in addition to putting on quality Gilbert and Sullivan productions.

To apply to direct the fall show, either

  1. return this form to Nick Leiserson by 11:59PM on April 27th.
  2. fill out the form below by 11:59PM on April 27th
    • Do not leave any parts of the form blank. If you do not have a response to a form field, just enter "None."

If you have a preference for a music director, please indicate the one person you would feel most comfortable working with.
List all past theatre experience you have that you consider relevant. Please provide the task(s) (acting, stage-managing, set design, etc) you performed, the year of the show, and the company.
Describe any other experiences (including musical ones) you think may be relevant to the board's decision and to your directorial experience.
List all expected commitments for next semester (club meetings, jobs, class, lab, etc.).
Explain what you envision your task as director to be. Be sure to include how you will find a production staff and how you will work with them.

In a 1-2 page (300-600 words) statement, explain your proposal. Try to answer the following questions: why does this show excite you?; what is your underlying creative vision for the production (feel free to reference other performances you may have seen)?; and why are you the best person for the job?
