  • USISTD (United States Imperial Society of Teachers of Dancing) maintains and posts its syllabi, which is used for all collegiate comps.
  • USABDA (United States Amateur Ballroom Dance Association) Homepage.
  • YCN Region III (the northeast region of the Youth College Network, a division of USABDA) Homepage.
• Local Studios and Venues
  • Ballroom Registrar: MIT’s site for registering for collegiate comps across the country. Also lists results and tracks points.
  • riDance: Devoted to dancing in Rhode Island.
  • K&S Music sponsors a great social dance every other Saturday (or so) at the Cranston K of C. Remember to ask for the student discount ($5 off).
  • SuperShag Mega Dance Complex, located in Waltham, Massachusetts, offers social ballroom dancing every Friday night. Their Web site contains a schedule of events that includes master classes with ballroom champions.
  • DanceNet has the latest and greatest on swing dancing in and around Boston.

  • Ballroom Etiquette (by DanceTV.com): Get tips and basic steps online. You can order videos and CDs from here also.
  • Dancestudent.com provides Latin and Ballroom dance step videos with a "look and learn" format. These are available as downloads or on CD-Rom. They also carry more detailed VHS tapes of complete routines.

  • Kat Kwok, a BBDT alum, has a ballroom costumes website advertising a bunch of great new and used latin costumes for sale.
  • DanceUniverse carries a selection of CDs, shoes, and apparel for ballroom dancing.
  • Denver Fabrics offers discounted prices on fabric for dancewear and costumes, including nylon/Lycra stretch knits, chiffon, organza, metallics, velvet, fake fur and silk. They also carry sewing notions and trims.
  • Showtime Shoes: Get shoes online, if you don’t want to wait for the next competition or trip to LeBrie’s.
