| Brown Ballroom Dance Team and Club
Description: The Brown Ballroom Dance Team learns and competes in both ballroom and latin style dances; there are 19 dances total, including waltz, foxtrot, tango, cha cha, swing, samba, mambo, and paso doble, to name a few. The Ballroom Dance Club learns about 11 of these dances and does not compete.
Time Commitment: Time commitment varies from person to person, but a team member should expect to attend 2 hours of lessons and at least 1 hour of practice a week. Before each competition (you can go to up to 4 per semester), we hold one 4 hour practice to prepare. A club member can expect to attend 1 hour of lessons per week with an optional 1 hour practice. Club is much more informal than team; to be part of the Club, you do not need to attend every week, as you should for Team.
How To Get Involved: No auditions; no partner, coordination, or experience necessary to join! Watch for tableslips advertising the first club class in September. At the first club class, we'll explain the difference between club and team and start taking sign-ups for the team.
