Definition
of Brotherhood Brotherhood is a feeling of fellowship and
compassion towards those who share a common experience or view.
Brothers are a group of individuals that support one another and
help to motivate each other to achieve a common goal.
What we do... In order to provide a space for Black Men
to discuss and express their views, we hold weekly general body
meetings. Meetings are held every other onSunday @ 4PM in the Harambee
House Lounge. (Harambee House is located on Patriots Court Next
to the Ratty) In order to provide and maintain a space for our members
to freely express themselves we require that all those in attendance
be respectful of everybody else’s opinion even in the case
of disagreement. Our meetings will last anywhere from 1-2 hours.
As a group we feel that there is a lack of communication and community
amongst the Black Men on Brown's campus.
In addition to our weekly meetings, we do hold events for our members
and the general Brown community.

Ground RULES for Discussion - People are encouraged to continue the dialogue
that we start within the Brotherhood, but we ask that members not
make references to individual statements to members of the general
Brown Community.
- Use “ I” statements.
- In order to improve our community we must be honest with each
other about our feelings and we require that everyone be truthful
as possible, brutally so if necessary.
