College Republicans:
Below is a quick recap of our meeting Wednesday night.
1. CR-NAVA Debate: Wednesday, December 5 at 8 PM, Lower Salomon. It
appears that Chris Guhin, Rob Montz, and Tim Goobic will be representing
us at the debate. Definitely plan to come and show your support!
2. Election for E-board Position: We will be conducting an election
for a spot on the e-board at large on our webpage (http://www.brown.edu/Students/Brown_College_Republicans/)
beginning Sunday night and continuing through the end of the week. At
the moment, Joe Lisska and Anthony Giunta are running, but the election
is certainly open to anyone else who is interested. E-mail me a brief
sentence or two detailing why you want to be involved next semester,
etc. by Sunday afternoon if you're interested in running.

A brief recap of our meeting tonight:
1. Sara Elliott from the Mike Battles campaign spoke briefly about
volunteering opportunities. Check out their webpage (http://www.battlesforcongress.com/)
if you're interested. If you would like to volunteer (this semester
and/or next spring), call the campaign headquarters at (401)435-0800.
2. CR Volunteering at the State GOP office is happening on the following
Fridays this semester: November 9, 16 and 30 and possibly (?) December
7. Contact me if you're interested in coming. We have a few spaces remaining
for tomorrow afternoon; meet us at Faunce at 3 PM if you would like
to join us.
3. Rally for America
A. Please meet us at the steps of Faunce on Sunday at 3:30 to help set
up. We really
need people to put up posters, help Facilities Management, etc. If you
can stay
for a few minutes after the Rally to help clean up, that would be great
too.
B. We would like everyone to come with a poster (handmade -- think posterboard,
markers, etc,). It would be lovely to see a number of patriotic posters
supporting our troops, our veterans, our leadership, etc.
4. Elections: We will be electing a new president at our next meeting,
as I will be consumed with my thesis next semester. Come with a short
statement if you're interested in running. Note that if someone from
our e-board is elected, we'll have another vacancy to fill as well.
5. Political Debate: The CRs, Democrats, and NAVA will be staging some
sort of debate (details still undecided) on Sunday, December 2. If you're
interested in participating on our panel, let me know.
6. Thanks to everyone who has tableslipped this week! And, special
thanks to Tim for offering to put up posters tomorrow.
7. Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, November 28. Since it will
very likely be our last gathering of the semester, we're thinking of
having a kind of 'party' -- let me know if you have any suggestions
or ideas.
