2-28-04 Update __ College Republicans, Thanks to everyone who attended the Bobby Jindal lecture. If you missed it, you can read more about it here http//www.brown.edu/Students/Brown_College_Republicans/ Our new officers will be elected this Wednesday, March 3rd at 7pm in Wilson 205. Right now we only have 4 people running for the 4 spots However, since we are conservatives, I think we must recognize the inherent value of competition. I know several people were still on the fence about whether to run or not. Consequently, if you email me with your intentions to run by Sunday, you can be included on the candidate list. Also, we just received an invitation to debate the ACLU on gay marriage. Here is the email text... "My name is Chris Schmitt and I am writing from the Brown ACLU. We are going to be running a campus-wide debate on the topic of gay marriage on Tuesday, March 9th. We were wondering if this would be something your organization would be interested in being part of. The Debate Team is interested in moderating and possibly taking part of the event, however, we would really enjoy your participation! If any of your members would be willing to debate, (we are hoping to have a team of two on each side of the issue), it would be most excellent!"
