events are occurring in the next three days! I hope you can attend!

Barus&Holly 157
2) Republican General Body Meeting Thursday the 20th at 8pm in Wilson
204

4) Dave Rogers Speech on December 3rd (time and location TBA)
1) Brian Bishop lecture Wednesday the 19th at 7pm in
Barus & Holly 157
Tomorrow night, Brian Bishop, a libertarian radio talk show host, will
be giving a lecture about property rights and the environment. He has
been described as the political equivalent of Magellan, having sailed
around the world to the left until he was coming in from the right.
Combining a traditional conservative belief in individual responsibility
with the lost liberal value of 'questioning authority' he now finds
himself one of the chief political opponents of many of his former compatriots
from the youth movements of the 60's and 70's.
2) Republican General Body Meeting Thursday the 20th
at 8pm in Wilson 204
We have several items on the agenda for this week's meeting, so I hope
you all can make it. We will be discussing the upcoming Dave Rogers
speech, as well as the possibility of co-sponsoring the "AIDS and
Development" conference that I mentioned in the last email. At
the moment, we are also in the process of trying to invite another big
speaker neoconservative journalist, Andrew Sullivan.
Please stop by and help us plan for these events. We also
have free Ronald Reagan posters for anyone who is interested (No, I'm
not kidding. We actually have some huge Reagan posters, as well as a
few other conservative-themed posters that we're giving away.)
3) Republican Movie Night Friday the 21nd at 9pm at
24 Congdon Street.
This time, we decided to hold our movie night where Police&Security
can't lock us out!! Colin Lidston has graciously invited us all to him
home this Friday Night. Free food, free drinks (alcoholic and otherwise),
so come and join us!
In celebration of Arnold's Governorship, we will be screening
"Commando," one of Schwarzenegger's most violent and exhilarating
films. After that, if interest permits, we will be showing parts of
"When Protesters Attack" and "Protesting the Protestors"
which are hilarious documentaries, mocking this year's anti-war protests.
Another reminder email will be sent out about this event
later this week.
4) Dave Rogers Speech on December 3rd (time and location
TBA)
Yesterday, former Navy Seal, Dave Rogers announced his official candidacy
for United States Congress. He will be campaigning against incumbent
Patrick "I've never worked a f---ing day in my life"* Kennedy.
On Wednesday, December 3rd, he will be giving a speech at Brown. This
will be a fabulous opportunity for College Republicans to get to know
our future congressman. If anyone is looking for some impressive extracurriculars
or resume-builders, this is the campaign to join!
*Democratic Congressman Patrick Kennedy,
in response to Bush's tax cuts, actually stated "This tax cut doesn't
help me. I've never worked a f---ing day in my life," while stinking
drunk at a fundraiser.
Best,
--Joe
