Beckett: February 29-March 1.
The BOC will be heading up north to a YMCA camp in Beckett, Massachusetts.
The activities for the weekend include snowshoeing, candle making, cross
country skiing, a wood fire sauna, a ropes course, and MORE!!! The cost is
only $35/person (includes transportation, food, two-nights of lodging, and
all of the necessary gear). WAIT, there's MORE. More you say? The club will
cover all costs for anyone with a car that is willing to drive. Contact jittania_smith@brown.edu. Archery: The BOC is going to an indoor archery range in Fall River, MA and there will
be a FREE opportunity for anyone who is interested. This archery trip will
take place on March 1st at noon. This is the only 40-yard archery range in
New England and it's up to you if you would like to take this rare
opportunity or not. Anyone is welcomed and I will be able to help beginners
with basics. No experiences is necessary. Contact zhong_gao@brown.edu Ice
Climbing: We're pleased to announce that the BOC will be running our
second annual ice climbing trip the weekend of March 8 and 9. We will be
hiring a guide from the Rhode Island Rock Gym, and will most likely be
climbing at Rumney, New Hampshire, a great area for beginners. As the gym is
limited in equipment, we will probably run back-to-back day trips on both the
Saturday the 8th and Sunday the 9th. No experience is necessary, and the cost
of the trip will be approximately 40 dollars, plus a small contribution for
gas and a tip. Contact Shane Schoepfer at shanedms@hotmail.com KENTUCKY: March 21- April 1. So
you all know Kentucky for what? Horses? Bourbon (or perhaps
moonshine)? Fried chicken? Maybe even some Ale 81? Well,
come spring break time, we are only thinking of one thing in KY: ROCK
CLIMBING at The Red River Gorge! That’s right
folks, we are once again headed down south to the depths of rural
Kentucky to climb some of the sexiest sandstone east of the Mississippi.
Sound fun? Damn right it is! |
