Barus and Holley houses the Physics Department and the Division of Engineering. Brown has the oldest undergraduate engineering program in the Ivy League. Engineering students may focus in biomedical, chemical, civil, computer, electrical, materials, or mechanical engineering.

Inside, engineering and physics students take advantage of computer, electronics and rapid prototyping labs. Professors' offices are a short elevator trip away from the study lounge and computer lab.
