The Erickson Athletic Complex contains four of Brown's major athletic facilities and is home to Brown Bears athletics. Sponsoring thirty-seven varsity intercollegiate sports teams, Brown's athletics program was named as one of the top twenty programs in the nation by U.S. News and World Report in 2005. Brown also offers students a wide array of club, intramural, and recreational athletic programs.

Opened in 1989, the Pizzitola Sports Center (pictured left) contains Brown's principal competition court for men's and women's basketball, volleyball, wrestling and gymnastics. The facility also houses a 4,000-square-foot weight room, six squash courts, and four tennis courts.
