Victoria Chen '11 is a Neuroscience concentrator from
Sudbury, MA. She has participated in Playgroups since
freshman year and loves everything related to children
and playing silly games. Outside of Brown, she is also
a Head Counselor for the New England Chinese Youth Summer
Camp and spends the majority of her year planning and
trying out such silly games and activities. Victoria
eventually plans to become a teacher or go into psychology
to learn even more about the mysterious minds of children!

William
Chen ’10 is a Biology and East Asian Studies concentrator
from Toronto who currently lives in Shanghai. He has
been involved with China Care since freshmen year, as
both a mentor and an E-board member. When he’s not working
with children, he also likes to give tours, sing, play
badminton, and shoot hoops with Team Sexyback. After
college, he will be taking a gap year before heading
to med school.

Sarah Lai '10 is an Economics concentrator from Hong
Kong. She has been involved with China Care Brown since
Fall 2006, and additionally worked in the Shanghai's
Children's Home during her winter break of 2007. Sarah
is also involved with the Entrepreneurship Program at
Brown. In her spare time, Sarah likes to scrapbook and
bake goodies to share with her China Care friends. After
graduation, Sarah plans to attend law school.

Alice Ren’12 is a Neuroscience concentrator from Westfield,
NJ. Alice has been a China Care Mentor since Fall 2008
and finds China Care to be an exceptionally rewarding
bonding experience with children and other peers. In
her free time, Alice likes to play tennis and learn
about different cuisines. Her favorites are Japanese,
Chinese, and French. Alice eventually hopes to attend
medical school after spending a year working abroad,
preferably in China or Japan.

Jessica Dai '09.5 is a Neuroscience concentrator from
Nanuet, New York. She has been a China Care M&M's
mentor since her freshman year at Brown, and has previously
worked on the executive board as the co-public relations
officer and last year's co-Vice President. When she's
not working with China Care, she plays in a Brown chamber
music quartet and teaches violin to Providence students
through the Community Music Works organization. Jessica
also loves food, and hopes to one day go on a culinary
adventure around the world. Though no longer an undergrad,
next year she'll be back at Brown's Warren Alpert Medical
School as a med student.

Carolyn Lee '10 is an International Relations concentrator,
a cupcake enthusiast, and loves to draw. She is from
both Toronto and Hong Kong, and has participated as
a mentor in China Care since her freshman year. Carolyn
loves to travel and meet new people. After Brown, she
plans on applying to law school.

Emily Cole '10 is a Biology concentrator from Krumville,
NY. She has participated in China Care Playgroups since
freshman year, and traveled to Beijing and Baotou as
an intern for 8 weeks during the summer of 2007. Last
year, she served as the internship coordinator, and
this year is honored to be the president of China Care.
In her spare time, Emily enjoys playing the piano and
violin, and is currently studying piano at Brown. She
plans to attend medical school and hopefully become
a pediatrician.

Grace Chow '11 is a Human Biology concentrator from
Long Island, NY. She has been involved with China Care
Mentorship since her freshman year and absolutely loves
spending time with the children. She traveled to China
this summer to study Traditional Chinese Medicine and
now has a greater understanding of herbal medicine and
acupuncture. Aside from China Care, Grace is also involved
with the Brown Orchestra and Critical Review. She plans
to attend medical school when she finishes her undergraduate
years.

Shanna Hsu '12 grew up in Hong Kong and Groton, MA.
She joined China Care in 2008 and can't believe how
lucky she is to have an excuse to play fun games with
kids. Shanna is undeclared at the moment, but is looking
forward to discovering her concentration soon. After
Brown, she hopes to attend medical school on the West
Coast, and maybe spend some time living in Taiwan. At
school, she is involved with Strait Talk and the Rhode
Island Free Clinic. Shanna loves night markets, squash
(the sport, not the vegetable), swimming, and playing
with bubble wrap.

Ho-hin Choy ’10 is a Pre-med Economics concentrator
from Oakland, CA. He first became involved with China
Care through the mentorship program in Spring 2008 and
served on the executive board last year as Secretary/Controller.
Outside of China Care he spends his time watching Kung
Fu Panda, playing basketball, and complaining about
the bad East Coast weather. His favorite foods include
Black and Tan Sundaes from Fenton’s, Double Double Burgers
from In and Out, and White Gummy Bear smoothies from
Jamba Juice. He loves kids and after Brown he hopes
to attend medical school in California and one day become
a Pediatrician.

Internship Coordinator

Han Cun '10 is a native of Evansville, Indiana. Currently
a senior at Brown University, she will be graduating
with a Bachelor of Science in biology this coming year.
She hopes to attend medical school after graduation.
Apart from running the Internship program with China
Care Brown, she is also Cheerleading co-captain, a BIOL
20 TA, and a undergraduate lab assistant in an immunology
lab. She became interested in the China Care program
after a summer in China with the internship program
after her sophomore year.

Stephanie Chen '11 is a biology concentrator from Danville,
CA. She became a mentor and member of the fundraising
committee for China Care in the fall of 2008. Outside
of China Care, Stephanie also volunteers for the Third
World Center and the Bruin Club. Some of her favorite
things are karate (both learning and teaching), Disney,
sunshine, and pandas. After college she hopes to attend
medical school back home in California, but if all else
fails, her back-up plan is to become a Disney princess.

Catherine Chiu ’12, from Saratoga, CA, has not decided
what her major is, but that is quite alright. She became
involved with ChinaCare through Playgroup in her freshman
year and is now thrilled to organize Chinese lessons
for these same kids. When not basking in the glory of
the infrequent Providence warmth and sun, Catherine
is usually busy with her violin or with research.
