"Contemporary African Philosophy" sought to examine through a seminar format modern views of philosophical issues from an African perspective. Unfortunately, there is little information available regarding the content of this course.
Of those few respondents that provided substantive comments, Professor Gordon was regarded as an excellent instructor and discussion leader. He was described as very knowledgeable about the concepts and very willing to explain the difficult parts so everyone understood.
The seminar format demanded the students keep up with the material, including a book nearly every week. Written work included two papers during the semester and a take-home final paper.
Students thoroughly enjoyed this class, noting they learned more in this class on philosophy than they did in any of the Philosophy department's classes.
