'Advanced Grammar and Reading' is a course designed to focus on perfecting its students' understanding of both the spoken and written Arabic. The prerequisite for enrollment in this class is AB 40 or 50.
Professor Elverskog received rave reviews from her students. Respondents felt that she was always kind, helpful, and sensitive to their knowledge of Arabic. The professor was also commended for her enthusiasm for the subject. She was able to explain difficult grammar and literary concepts clearly, and incorporated songs, games and videos to enhance her students' learning of Arabic. As one student put it, 'She is always ready to go the extra mile for her students!'
Students put in a moderate amount of time and effort into the class. The workload consisted of textbook reading assignments, homework drills, three exams, and memorizing a few poems. Students stated that the workload was manageable and fun at the same time.
Respondents were very glad that they took this course, especially with a great instructor like Professor Elverskog. They recommend this class to anyone who is interested in improving their Arabic skills.
