Interested in learning all you ever wanted to know about the thyroid gland? Then 'Endocrinology' is the course for you. This course aims at providing its students with an in-depth understanding of the functions of the endocrine system. A basic college level biology class is recommended, and organic chemistry and biochemistry are helpful but not necessary.

This course was team-taught by Professors Camick, Morris, and Rubin. Survey respondents were generally pleased with the professors' teaching styles. Students praised their instructors' clear and organized lectures, very helpful hand-outs and slides. The professors pinpointed key themes to better guide their students' studying and adapted well to the needs of the class. Their openness encouraged many opportunities for student participation. Many respondents felt that the instructors' enthusiasm for the subject inspired them and made the course more enjoyable.

The workload for this class was fairly moderate. Students reported that they spent approximately five to seven hours a week for this class. There were one to two chapter reading assignments per week, one midterm exam, one paper, and the final exam. Students commented that the exams were fair, but studying for them required a lot of rote memorization. The reading period was observed.

Most of the students found the subject matter of this course to be very interesting, and came away from the course with a great deal of knowledge about endocrinology. Respondents highly recommend this course to all who are interested in the subject and are looking for a course that is not too rigorous.
