Have you ever wondered how your body functions? Have you ever wondered what homeostasis means? Then consider taking 'Principles of Physiology.' This course aims to provide students with an understanding of the basic principles that govern one's body, from the cellular to the systemic level. In order to enroll in this course, students must have taken Bio 20 or have advanced placement in biology.

This course was team taught by Professors Hai and Jackson. In general, respondents felt that the lectures were extremely fast paced. Some respondents complained that the lectures were at times monotonous and dry. However, many lauded the professors for being very willing to answer questions and for being very accessible. In addition, students commended the use of microphones and overheads because it aided them in following the lectures.

The workload for this course demanded approximately 6 to 10 hours per week. Assignments for the course included weekly readings, 3 exams, one final, and four written labs. Most of the class members felt that they devoted a great deal of effort to this class. They found the subject interesting , and such interest facilitated the understanding of the assigned reading materials. However, many students felt that the amount of information to be memorized was often overwhelming.

The majority of the students were glad that they had taken the course for they found the subject matter extremely interesting and also learned a great deal about how the human body functions.

For those of you interested in how your body functions, this course is a great course that will enlighten you in this area. Although the work is not light, it is worthwhile in the end.
