'Quantitative Methods in Psychology' explores basic methods in statistics as they relate to psychology and to general research analysis. Requiring only basic math, the course was popular because many came intending to fulfill a requirement but enjoyed the class in the process.

Professor Ben-Zeev's ears must be tingling because her students could not stop praising her. Stupendous, passionate, enthusiastic, amazing, helpful, genuine, relaxed, and funny only begin to describe this dynamic lady. She was very clear and made note-taking easy with her highly organized transparencies. Everyone laments the fact that she has left Brown and will not be able to teach any more courses here.

The many participation opportunities within the lecture format were not always taken, possibly because the material was so clear. Students were glad that the chapter that they were expected to read for each class was very straightforward, because it was also quite long. The two midterms were open-note and very fair. The final was reasonable as well. The eight problem sets and two quizzes rounded out the assignments, on which students spent two to four hours per week.

Some students did not learn as much as they could have because they lacked interest, but others assure that it was painless and great for math-phobics. Class was easy because Professor Ben-Zeev was extremely understanding, but students warn that one should be wary of taking the course with another professor. It may no longer be easier than Sociology 110, its equivalent.

Williams College is lucky to have Professor Ben-Zeev because she makes learning a joyous and gratifying experience. The course itself is structured to appeal to the masses, so it should continue to be a popular choice.
