"Synagogues, Churches and Mosques" is a course designed to provide its students with an understanding of the construction style, religious tendencies, and historical development of synagogues, churches, and mosques in ancient Palestine. Despite its high course number, it requires no formal prerequisites. However, students suggested that some religious studies background or basic knowledge of Christianity, Judaism and Islam would be helpful in understanding the subject material.
Professor Galor received rave reviews. Students praised the professor for her organized, clear, and very informative lectures. Respondents also lauded her sensitivity towards her students" level of understanding. She was able to generate a comfortable, yet stimulating learning environment by being open to students" questions and suggestions and by adjusting the syllabus according to the students" pace. All in all, Professor Galor was described as a fantastic teacher.
The workload for this course required approximately 4 hours of work outside of class per week. It consisted of: daily article reading assignments, three or four presentations in class, and one final paper. There were no exams for this class. Most students enjoyed the assignments thoroughly, and they commented that all the assignments contributed significantly towards a deeper understanding of the topics introduced in class. The respondents seemed truly motivated by the subject matter. Reading Period was observed.
Whether it is because of the fascinating material or the fabulous instructor, all respondents were glad to have completed this class. They recommend this class to everyone.
