Know some German and don"t want to let it go to waste? Are you interested in the workings of the European Union? "Germany and European Integration" is a class intended for those with a strong background in German and have an interest in the role of Germany in Europe and the European Union.

Professor Kniesche was praised by all of the reviewers for various reasons. He was described as being a very friendly and approachable person as well as having a good sense for the relative levels of understanding among the students. Students also remarked that he was open to questions. Many of the respondents pointed out his wealth of knowledge, which contributed to the effectiveness of his teaching style.

Coursework for this class consisted of daily journal writing assignments, several short papers, short reading assignments, and a three to five page final paper. Students found the assignments to be well suited to the material covered in the course and spent anywhere from three to eight hours a week working for this course. Respondents noted the difficulty of the readings covered in the course but had no complaints about the work otherwise.

Although the class met twice during reading period, none of the students had any complaints. Reviewers were also appreciative of the chance to bring up topics of their own choosing. In fact, there was a great deal of opportunities for student participation. All of the respondents were very pleased with the course, having learned a great deal about the European Union and refreshed their German-speaking skills.

Students coming out of this course were very happy to have taken this class, both because of the course material and because of the professor. If you have the background appropriate for this course, it is well worth looking into.
