"Archeology of Anatolia" with Professor Joukowsky is a class that deals with the archeology of and history of Anatolia. This class has no prerequisites, although knowledge of archeology is considered helpful.
Overall, students have a very positive impression of Joukowsky's teaching style. She was organized, knowledgeable, extremely enthusiastic, and made good use of personal anecdotes, movies, and slides. In addition, she was extremely receptive and understanding of students needs. Apparently, she even allowed students to use her basement as a study area! There were a few dissenters among the respondents who felt that Professor Joukowsky overused slides, and several reviewers noted that it was often difficult to stay awake during slideshows because of the darkened room.
Students generally found the course material to be interesting. Almost all class reading was from a single textbook that was written by Professor Joukowsky herself. In addition to readings, there were two exams, two papers, a take-home final, and a class presentation. On average, students spent between two and ten hours a week on class work, more immediately before tests.
This class comes with high recommendations. Almost all respondents had an extremely positive opinion of Professor Joukowsky, and considered the class to be worthwhile for anyone with an interest in archeology.
