Democracy Matters is a non-profit group fighting to get private money out of politics both on a local and national level. As a part of the pro-democracy movement gaining nationwide momentum, we aim to connect students, community groups and people from across the political spectrum through both education and action.

For years, the role of money in politics has systematically disenfranchised women and minorities while serving as a roadblock to environmental and social change. Dramatically escalating campaign costs continue to lock many out of the system, all while privileging well-heeled special interests over that of the public good.

We believe our democracy is fundamentally flawed, but that we can fix it.
