Announcement
In late April Brown University will host Provoking Hope: The Brown University Pandemic/AIDS Symposium. This multipart symposium will include a screening of Pandemic, a documentary made by Rory Kennedy's (B'92); BRUNAP (Brown University Aids Project) panels; a two-day conference addressing the impact of AIDS on political and economic development; panels with the directors of leading AIDS foundations; as well as an art exhibit demonstrating the role that art can play in social activism regarding HIV/AIDS. Following the symposium Brown students, faculty and administrators will take part in a Providence community outreach, bringing to light the themes of the conference for local secondary school teachers and students. If you are interested in becoming more involved with this important event -- or the following community intervention -- please come to an organizational meeting with Vice-president Lisa Raiola, the conference's lead organizer, and the other students (undergrad, grad, and med) who are working on this event. This organizational meeting will be held on March 9th, from 7:30-9:00pm in Wilson Hall, room 102 (on the main green). If you would like more information, or should you have any questions regarding how you can get involved please contact Sam Hodges at Samuel_Hodges [at] brown [dot] edu.
