Joy is one of the more mysterious members of the Higher Keys, but a huge fan of the Big Mac. Joy likes to tell her rasberries to "grow" and talk to her food in general. During her first rehearsal, Joy was surprised to learn that her unparalled dancing skills would come in handy learning the complex rhythms found in the alto part of englishman! It is rumored that Joy will follow in the footsteps of some of the illustrous Keys alumni as the next dancing queen. Spirit fingers anyone? Joy is intense like camping.
Jackie enjoys playing in the rain, eating any kind of food, singing in the shower, driving fast cars, avoiding anything involving physical activity and it never ceases to amuse her when she sees silly people with convertibles running back to their cars to make sure they've locked it... Also, Jackie is known to be the most seductive member of the keys, often distracting our unsuspecting and naive boys during rehearsal with her womanly charms and "anime character"-esque sounds. Jackie is the Higher Keys president this year. She is also fond of the ^_^ face and enjoys beating boys at poker and taking their money.
Jackie Chen ('06), President
Erica, a veteran soprano, likes to answer "no" to any suggestion one may make. A martial-arts expert and avid skiier, Erica is studying to be a teacher. Although you'd never know it, Erica is actually chinese. Erica likes to fence, sail, root for horrible baseball teams, and quote strongbad.
Erica Dieselman ('06)
Lisa Jacobson ('06)
Lisa hails from Chicago and also used to play the cello! Not long after having been sung into the group, Lisa was so impressed with other keys' low voices that she vowed there and then to make the transformation into a she-male! Lisa does not know how to tie a tie, secretly likes to wear those knee high boots, and never runs into other keys at the Ratty, because she is not on meal plan. Though somewhat of a mysterious and nocturnal personality, she is a German TA and can be found posting heavily on the Brown Dailyjolt under a top secret alias. Her favorite movie is Magnolia and she tends to like obscure musicians that the webmaster has trouble remembering for a long enough time to put in her bio.
Justin Fike ('07)
Justin is a sophomore. He plays the guitar, acts, and does other cool things. He is off meal plan, so he sits in the Ratty for hours whenever he tableslips for cool things like martial arts competitions. He is proficient in the art of Hapkido and is also known amongst the girls at Concord Academy as "the heartthrob." He likes hot coffee, no sugar, just milk. A super tenor, he can also sing alto. Crazy.
Priscilla Sung ('07)
Drew Nobile ('07)
Ten minutes after they began, Priscilla realized that the sounds she heard were the Higher Keys singing her into the group and not just part of her dream. Somewhat narcoleptic and easily amused, she wanders sleepily through her days thinking about chocolate chip cookie recipes and dark purple M3s. She has an unnatural penchant for red balloons, small shiny things, cappuccino soymilk, and the color blue. She also enjoys sneaking into forbidden places late at night to play the piano. Priscilla likes to sing, but her favorite activities consist of drinking strawberry lemonade, taking naps in warm places, driving fast, honking at other cars for absolutely no good reason, and pondering existence as a blueberry.
Drew is from Poughkeepsie, New York and is a math tutor/TA for Sara and Lorraine. He plays the violin, arranges a lot of our songs, and is in the orchestra, plays chamber music, and is in a funk band. Drew, our resident beirut specialist, likes to party. Drew's parties are so good that everyone on campus is there. Of course, he is sensitive enough to like long walks on the beach and summers in Cape Cod as well, but mostly he likes to party, and party hard.
Sara "You know you wanna" Naylor ('08)
Sara grew up in Tokyo, Japan. An absolute freak show on the volleyball court, she is known to freeze opponents with her death glare. She speaks Japanese as well. Oh, and she is the master of the old school Mario game on the original Nintendo. She has a love for road trips in the mid-west and has a soft spot for her fruit flies for whom she administers life and death as she pleases. A true queen of the flies, what can we say, everybody wants to Naylor.
Charlotte Graham ('07)
Charlotte is a soprano from Chevy Chase, MD, which may or may not be a real place. She is concentrating in theater arts and is generally a pretty huge musical theater nerd. Charlotte is an avid fan and participant of human pyramid building. Her apartment is home to the highest concentration of Higher Keys living in a single dwelling. She enjoys potentially awkward questions, bad online bios, dogs, and pad thai.
Jonathan Russ ('07)
Jon has perfect pitch. Having recently composed a musical that was performed on Brown's main stage, Jon laughs while he arranges songs for the Keys. Did I mention he has perfect pitch? Jon is the only person in the world who likes hockey, specifically the New York Islanders. Jon is from Long Island, and has perfect pitch.
Carole Ann Penney ('07)
Carole Ann is a sop II/alto who hails from Chester, Vermont. Recently back from an exciting semester in New Zealand, she is concentrating in Education Studies. She also has a profound love of musical theater and has participated in many productions on campus including Bat Boy: The Musical, Into the Woods, and Sunday in the Park with George.
