Freak Out!
Somehow the word "diverse" is too college essay-ish to describe us. Get to
know us here (and wish you hadn't!)
Jackie Chen ('06), President
Jackie enjoys playing in the rain, eating any kind of food, singing
in the shower, driving fast cars, avoiding anything involving physical
activity and it never ceases to amuse her when she sees silly people
with convertibles running back to their cars to make sure they've
locked it... Also, Jackie is known to be the most seductive member of
the keys, often distracting our unsuspecting and naive boys during
rehearsal with her womanly charms and "anime character"-esque sounds.
Jackie is the Higher Keys president this year. She is also fond of the
^_^ face and enjoys beating boys at poker and taking their money.

Priscilla Sung ('07), Music Director
Ten minutes after they began, Priscilla realized that the sounds she heard were the Higher Keys singing her into the group and not just
part of her
dream. Somewhat narcoleptic and easily amused, she wanders sleepily through her days thinking about chocolate chip cookie recipes and dark purple
M3s. She has an
unnatural penchant for red balloons, small shiny things, cappuccino soymilk, and the color blue. She also enjoys sneaking into forbidden places late
at night to
play the piano. Priscilla likes to sing, but her favorite activities consist of drinking strawberry lemonade, taking naps in warm places, driving
fast, honking
at other cars for absolutely no good reason, and pondering existence as a blueberry.

|
Drew Nobile ('07), Assistant Music Director
Drew is from Poughkeepsie, New York and is
a math tutor/TA for Sara and Lorraine. He plays the violin, arranges a lot of our songs,
and is in the orchestra, plays chamber music, and is in a funk band.
Drew, our resident beirut specialist, likes to party. Drew's parties are so good that everyone on
campus is there.
Of course, he is sensitive enough to
like long walks on the beach and summers in Cape Cod as well, but mostly he likes to party,
and party hard.

|
Jeremy Jih ('08), Business Manager
Jeremy, a baritone, is from Beijing and Chicago. He brings back yummy food from Asia for Sara.
He is the master of stealing soup from Jo's and secretly likes watching Sex and the City. Married to
Jackie, Jeremy is
one cool cat.
|
|
|
Sara "You know you wanna" Naylor ('08), Business Manager
Sara grew up in Tokyo, Japan. An absolute freak show on the volleyball
court, she is known to freeze opponents with her death like glare.
She speaks Japanese as well. Oh, and she is the master of the old
school Mario game on the original nintendo. She has a love for road
trips in the mid-west and has a soft spot for her fruit flies for whom
she administers life and death as she pleases. A true queen of the flies,
what can we say, everybody wants to Naylor.

|
Erica Dieselman ('06)
Erica, a veteran soprano, likes to answer "no" to any suggestion one may make. A martial-arts expert and avid skiier, Erica is studying to be a
teacher. Although you'd never know it, Erica is actually chinese. Erica likes to fence, sail, root for horrible baseball teams, and quote strongbad.

|
|
Justin Fike ('07)
Justin is a sophomore. He plays the guitar, acts, and does other cool things.
He is off meal plan, so he sits in the Ratty for hours whenever he tableslips for cool things like
martial arts competitions. He is proficient in the art of Hapkido and is also known amongst the
girls at Concord Academy as "the heartthrob." He likes hot coffee, no sugar, just milk.
A super tenor, he can also sing alto. Crazy.
|
|
|
Lorraine Fryer ('08)
Lorraine is a soprano originally from Connecticut who now lives in Westchester, New York. She is also a
member of Arrr! and a member of ADPhi. A member of the chorus, Lorraine likes musicals, and everything else ever. She is known to break out saucy
underwear from time to time, as well as use phrases like "rulesor." She also loves the Peanut Log and Perfect numbers.
|
|
|
Charlotte Graham ('07)
Charlotte is a soprano from Chevy Chase, MD, which may or may not be a real place. She is concentrating in theater arts and is
generally a pretty huge musical theater nerd. Charlotte is an avid fan and participant of human pyramid building. Her Grad Center suite is home to
the highest concentration of Higher Keys living in a single dwelling. She enjoys potentially awkward questions, bad online bios, dogs, and pad thai.

|
Lisa Jacobson ('06)
Lisa hails from Chicago and also used to play the cello! Not long after having been sung into the group, Lisa was so impressed with
other keys' low voices that she vowed there and then to make the transformation into a she-male! Lisa does not know how to tie a tie, secretly likes
to wear those knee high boots, and never runs into other keys at the Ratty, because she is not on meal plan. Though somewhat of a mysterious and
nocturnal personality, she is a German TA and can be found posting heavily on the Brown Dailyjolt under a top secret alias. Her favorite movie is
Magnolia and she tends to like obscure musicians that the webmaster has trouble remembering for a long enough time to put in her bio.
|
|
|
Mike Kadin ('08)
Mike is a bass from Milburn, New Jersey, where he was known to be
one of the meanest fencers to have ever graced the planet. Proud of his New Jersey heritage,
he is part of the jersey bass crew. Mike has a tiny hidden drum set in his throat. He has also
secretly become the keys' resident ladies man.
|
|
|
Joy Lee ('06)
Joy is one of the more mysterious members of the Higher Keys, but a huge fan of the Big Mac. Joy likes
to tell her rasberries to "grow" and talk to her food in general. During her first rehearsal, Joy was surprised to learn that her unparalled dancing
skills would
come in handy learning the complex rhythms found in the alto part of englishman! It is rumored that Joy will follow in the footsteps of some of the
illustrous
Keys alumni as the next dancing queen. Spirit fingers anyone? Joy is intense like camping.

|
|
Jonathan Russ ('07)
Jon has perfect pitch. Having recently composed a musical that was performed on Brown's main stage, Jon laughs while he arranges songs
for the Keys. Did I mention he has perfect pitch? Jon is the only person in the world who likes hockey, specifically the New York Islanders. Jon is
from Long Island, and has perfect pitch.
|
|
|
Carole Ann Penney ('07)
Carole Ann is a sop II/alto who hails from Chester, Vermont. Recently back from an exciting semester in New Zealand, she is
concentrating in Education Studies. She also has a profound love of musical theater and has participated in many productions on campus including Bat
Boy: The Musical,
Into the Woods, and Sunday in the Park with George.
|
|
|
Rebecca Russo ('08)
Rebecca, an alto, hails from the "Chicago area." Known for her soulful, jazzy voice, Rebecca can be
found humming Ella Fitzgerald tunes in her '92 Camaro. I made that up, she probably doesn't have a Camaro.
|
|
|
Aaron Stanton ('08)
Aaron comes to the Keys from "Sunny Long Island," which has never been called that before by anyone. Ever. Aaron likes theater, writing
english papers and food. He plays the organ like a mother.
|
|
|
Daniel Walker ('09)
Daniel Walker was born in the Woods of the South Shore of Kahuni, an Island off of Turkey. He was raised by marmots with the help of an
elephant who played the Kazoo. His vocal chords grew as a result of eucalyptus poisoning and so he can sing really really ridiculously low notes
without hesitation. Dan is known for his uncanny ability to play video game tunes on the electric Ude and his knowledge of over 6000 languages, none
of which are or have ever been spoken.
|
|
|
Leighton Bryan ('08)
Leighton Bryan has forever been an avid fan of ancient mysteries and cryptically obscure tidbits of knowledge that overwhelm her many
acquaintances. She was so overjoyed by an Egyptology major existing at Brown that she considered it paramount to the undergraduate experience and
thus decided to apply to Brown. As of late, she is taking the much more esoteric approach of a Pre-Med track and Theatre major. Had Leighton's
mother accepted the offer to be an undercover spy in the Secret Services, she would not have been born. Her name means "from the Meadows", even
though she resides on a 1-mile wide island in Florida. She sometimes forgets how to spell her first name because she never uses it. She is ecstatic
to be in the Keys, because she considers a capella a "naked music", and wholeheartedly promotes University sanctioning of such activities.
|
|
|
Max Chaiken ('09)
Max is thrilled to be singing with The Higher Keys. After deferring his admission to Brown to study and live in Israel for a year, he
loves Brown and thinks he might major in public policy. In addition to being a new key, he is active with Hillel and teaches 5th graders at a local
Hebrew School. He like sushi and reading Harry Potter in Hebrew. He's a pretty big deal; people know him.
|
|
|
Emily Borromeo ('09)
Emily hails from sunny Los Altos, CA, which for those of you who don't hablo español, that means "the altos" which makes
sense because Emily is an alto. Emily is double concentrator in theater arts and english. Emily comes to the Higher Keys after starring as Velma
Kelley in Brown's production of Chicago.
|
|
On Leave/Abroad |
Diego Wedgewood ('08)
Diego is from Bryn Mawr, Pennsylvania. Known for his suave coolness, he is the keys' resident poker champion. His facial hair also
has taken a
life of its own, but the girls in the keys claim that it is hot nonetheless. He is mysterious.
|
|
|
Ed Lee ('07)
Ed is excited to be singing with the Keys. A bass, Ed originally is from Korea, but went to school in Connecticut. Though, on the
surface, it may
appear as though Ed is the bad ass of the group (he is a master at Tae Kwon Do) he is one of those nice guys who help old ladies cross the street!
His burning
desire for the past two years? To take real analysis of functions with one variable in the mathematics department. Yes, Ed is the Higher Keys'
resident math
genius. Ed will return to Brown after serving two years in the South Korean army. We wish him the best of luck and look forward to his return to the
keys and to
Brown.
