Brianna Larkin Welcome to my portfolio!
This collection of evidence and explanations documents my experience student teaching two social studies classes at Central High School in Providence, Rhode Island and team teaching a month long summer class for Providence area high school students. With each standard linked on the side of the page, I described what the standard means for my teaching and provided evidence for how I completed the standard during my student teaching semester. At Central this semester, I taught two classes of Paralegal Studies under the mentorship of Becky Coustan, an experienced high school history teacher and licensed attorney. The class consisted of juniors and seniors who elected to take the class as a third year history/social studies credit. The class I taught this summer, entitled "How do I know if the media and history are fair and balanced?", with Lauren DeHart and Sofia Gluck proved to be an incredible introduction to teaching social studies and history for high school students. Our students came from various areas of Providence and Rhode Island bringing with them valuable personal knowledge and experience that made our class dynamic exciting. I hope you enjoy my portfolio!
