Overview:Meeting this standard indicates that I carefully plan and spend time thinking about each lesson before teaching them to students. It implies that I consider how every lesson connects with each other to build the students' understanding of greater concepts and how each student will respond to the lesson. During the Brown Summer High School course, my teammates and I spent an overwhelming amount of time thinking about every lesson and how to ensure that all students understand the skill or content we focused on during class. We carefully scripted essential questions for the course and planned to have our lessons revolve around answering those questions. We had a month long schedule of what the students would learn during the course and though our plan shifted several times, the overall ideas remained the same. We were successful in achieving most of our goals for the summer and the students learned the skills we set out to teach them. Continuing to address this standard during student teaching required me to develop a more efficient manner for planning and to consider grades as I began to plan assessment activities. When I planned each unit, I had to determine how many grades I would make each assignment count for and how often I would assign tests or essays for students to complete. Evidence:
