Brown’s beginner NAUI Certification Scuba diving classes will be stating up in September at the Smith Swim Center at 7pm for the first night of class. Pre registration will be done by mail. You can get the registration form at www.BrownBears.com and go to the PE link. You can also call the PE Office at 863-2074.

Both Tuesdays and Thursdays class meet on for the first night of class. Students are expected to bring with them a notebook, pen, swimsuit, towel, and $45.00 for class text. Additional cost will be purchase of mask, snorkel, fins, and wet suit boots (DO NOT PURCHASE UNTIL AFTER FIRST NIGHT OF CLASS), as well as an  estimated $50.00 wet suit rental for open water dives. Students will be given instruction on what to expect from following classes and how to purchase equipment needed for the course.

Anyone interested in learning scuba diving with a medical history of any of the following will not be cleared for scuba diving under any circumstance.

New Scuba divers who want to expand their knowledge and experience of scuba diving may be interested in a NAUI Certification Advanced Course.  Mac Field who teach the Brown Scuba program privately run Advanced Courses on request.

Advanced Course entails

Classes can be scheduled as a two-day class or a three-day class, depending on the students needs. There is a two-student minimum, but no more than four students per course.

Students must have a recent medical approval for diving. If student has not had a physical for diving in one year they will need to get one before the start of class. Students must also own or rent their own equipment.
