Published twice a year, once in November, and once again in April, Watershed is an undergraduate produced art and literary magazine with a rapidly increasing national circulation. Subscribers range from national colleges and universities, to professors, artists, authors and other individuals interested in issues concerning the natural world. The journal also is distributed free on Brown and RISD's campuses. Currently, the journal is 68 full color pages and circulation is 1000 copies.

Previous Advertisers include: Ben & Jerry's, UNESCO Paris, Heron Dance, Community Food Resource Center New York City, and other national and international corporations.

Advertising opportunity also includes Watershed's Supporter's Page, located at the back of the journal. Contributions of 25, 40, and 50 dollars, receive respectively a 1 x 2 1/4, 2 x 2 1/4, and 3 x 2 1/4 inch full color advertisement. At its top, Watershed's Supporters Page reads "Watershed thanks local businesses for their support."

Specifications

For the Fall issue, all advertisements are due by November 14th; for the Spring issue, by April 1st.

Bleeds: Because Watershed is an undergraduate production that continues to run on a very tight budget, we do not bleed any material within the journal. All full-page ads must have a 1/2" margin on all four sides, thus measuring 7.5"x10" area of graphics.

Advertisements can be submitted electronically with the following specifications:

  • Media: Cds, DVDs, and Zips and email attachments.
  • Format: .tiff, .pdf, .eps (with fonts included), or high res .jpg
  • Dpi: Watershed prints at 360 dpi. No advertisements will be accepted with a dpi of less than 300 dpi.

  1. Ads must be received by the first of the month preceding publication.
  2. Payment must be made before closing date unless advertisement is placed through an accredited agency.
  3. All advertisement is subject to the editor's approval.
  4. Watershed editor's reserve the right to reject any advertising. The advertiser agrees to assume liability for all content, and also assumes responsibility for any claims arising there-from against the publisher.
  5. Watershed assumes no responsibility if it becomes necessary to omit an advertisement.
  6. The acceptance of the advertisement by Watershed in no way constitutes an endorsement of the advertised product or service by the journal. The advertiser therefore agrees to make no promotional reference to Watershed without the journal's consent.
