Eighteen-month Postdoctoral Scholar awards are offered annually to recipients of new or recent doctorates in the fields of chemistry, engineering, geology, geophysics, mathematics, meteorology, physics, and biology as well as oceanography. American Heart Association
This 2-year fellowship helps trainees initiate a career in cardiovascular and stroke research while obtaining significant research results under the supervision of a sponsor or mentor; supports individuals before they are ready for some stage of independent research. Deadline: January 13, 2015.

Department of Energy - Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy Science and Technology Policy Fellowships (SunShot Initiative Fellowships)
The Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE) Science and Technology Policy (STP) Fellowships serve as a next step in the educational and professional development of scientists and engineers interested in energy efficiency and renewable energy policy. The EERE STP Fellowships provide an opportunity for highly talented scientists and engineers to participate in policy-related projects at DOE's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy in Washington, D.C. EERE STP Fellows apply the expertise gained from their education and history of conducting research to new and ongoing EERE initiatives.   Sunshot applications are reviewed (and offers are made) three times per year with rolling application deadlines of September 30th, January 31st, and May 31st.

National Pancreas Foundation - Grants & Awards 
The National Pancreas Foundation (NPF) is a private, non profit organization established to support the funding of research related to pancreatic disease.  Grants will be made for one year only.  The maximum award amount will be $50,000 for one year.   Deadline: January 30, 2015. 

American Thyroid Association - ATA Research Grants 
Research awards are intended to assist new investigators in obtaining preliminary data for submission of a more substantial application (i.e., to the NIH). Research grants, up to $25,000 annually, will be awarded for two year terms based on receipt and review of a satisfactory progress report from funded investigators in the fourth quarter of the first year of funding.

Fraxa Research Foundation
Awards 8 postdoctoral fellowships, funding 2 years of research into treatment for fragile X syndrome. Fraxa is a nonprofit organization and supports biomedical research. This fellowship funds research about fragile X, the most common inherited cause of intellectual disabilities and autism. Fellows will work in established labs.  Stipend of $45,000 per year for up to 2 years.  Deadline: February 1, 2015. 

Pharmaceutical Research & Manufactures of America Foundation, Postdoctoral Fellowship
 (PhRMA) offers various postdoctoral fellowships for up to 2 years for biopharmaceutical research. The PhRMA Foundation funds scientists at critical points in their research careers to support and reward innovation in disciplines essential to the development of safe and effective medicines. The PhRMA Foundation offers competitive postdoctoral fellowships, sabbatical fellowships, and research starter grants to advance science in pharmacology, toxicology, informatics, pharmaceutics, and health outcomes.  Stipend range from $40,000 to $55,000 per year depending on field of study.  Deadline: Feubruary 1, 2015. 

Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund for Medical Research 
 The Jane Coffin Childs Memorial Fund for Medical Research
supports postdoctoral fundamental biological research of cancer for 3 years.  Awardees will carry out research that explores the causes, origins, and treatment of cancer. The researchers and the research labs where the fellows conduct their projects have made major scientific contributions in areas such as the advancement of understanding the human genome, and the application of genetic approaches to understanding pathway regulation and stem cell activation.  Stipend of $50,000 a year, an additional $1000 for each dependent child, plus $1,500 for research costs and $1,800 for travel allowance to science meetings.  No citizenship requirements.   Deadline: February 2, 2015. 

National Science Foundation - Science, Techonology, and Society (STS)
The Science, Technology, and Society (STS) program supports research that uses historical, philosophical, and social scientific methods to investigate the intellectual, material, and social facets of the scientific, technological, engineering and mathematical (STEM) disciplines. It encompasses a broad spectrum of STS topics including interdisciplinary studies of ethics, equity, governance, and policy issues that are closely related to STEM disciplines, including medical science.  Deadline: February 2, 2015.  

ASM Congressional Science Fellowship
The American Society for Microbiology invites its members to apply for a Congressional Science Fellowship. The period of appointment is from 1 September 2015 and extends for one year. The award will include a $65,000 stipend plus health care benefits. The American Society for Microbiology supports the ASM Congressional Science Fellowship with some funding provided by the Martin Frobisher Fund.  The deadline for application is February 20, 2015.

Rand Postdoctoral Research Program In the Study of Aging
 The RAND Corporation: Labor and Population offer outstanding postdoctoral scholars an opportunity to research demographic and aging topics. Fellows will work on ongoing projects and their own projects. It is renewable for a second year. Deadline: February 20, 2015. 

Bioversity International - Vavilov-Frankel Fellowships (for Scientists from Developing Countries) 
The Vavilov-Frankel Fellowship enables outstanding scientists from developing countries to carry out research on the conservation and use of agricultural and forest biodiversity. The research involves collaboration with an academic institution outside of the fellows’ home countries.

Jessup funds are awarded competitively to students wishing to conduct studies at the postgraduate, doctoral and postdoctoral levels under the supervision or sponsorship of a member of the curatorial staff of the Academy.

Oak Ridge Associated Universities - NASA Postdoctoral Program  
The Oak Ridge Associated Universities (ORAU) accepts applications for the NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP). The NASA Postdoctoral Program (NPP) supports NASA’s goal to expand scientific understanding of the Earth and the universe in which we live.  Selected by a competitive peer-review process, NPP Fellows complete one- to three-year Fellowship appointments that advance NASA’s missions in earth science, heliophysics, planetary science, astrophysics, space bioscience, aeronautics and engineering, human exploration and space operations, and astrobiology.  Deadlines:  March 1 2015, July 1, 2015

John E. Fogarty International Center, International Research Scientist Development Award (IRSDA) 
The National Institutes of Health (NIH) offers 33 postdoc awards to scientists who research international health in a low- or middle-income country for 5 years. In association with the John E. Fogarty International Center (FIC), fellows will consist of biomedical, epidemiological/clinical and behavioral scientists. They will spend 3 to 5 years in a mentored research career development experience leading to an independent research career focused on global health. Awardees must spend a minimum of 50% of the grant period physically in-country conducting research.   Salary up to $75,000, applicable fringe benefits and up to $30,000 for travel and research development support. Deadline: March 4, 2015. 

Ohio State University - Byrd Polar Research Center -- Byrd Postdoctoral Fellowship Program  
The Byrd Polar and Climate Research Center (BPCRC) of The Ohio State University announces the 2015 Byrd Fellowship Program for Postdoctoral Researchers.  This program provides fellowships at The Ohio State University for postdoctoral researchers with superior academic backgrounds who are pursuing advanced research on topics relevant to polar and alpine environments as well as global climate change.  Deadline: March 13, 2015

Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation (DRCRF), Fellowship Award 
Damon Runyon Cancer Research Foundation (DRCRF) awards 4-year fellowships to support postdoctoral scholars working in research relevant to the study of cancer. Fellows may also theoretically and experimentally research cancer causes, mechanisms, therapies and prevention. Research can be conducted at an American hospital or research institution.  Deadline: March 16, 2015. 

National Institutes of Health - Intramural NIGMS Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRAT) Program (FI2)  The NIGMS Postdoctoral Research Associate (PRAT) Program's overarching goal is to provide high quality postdoctoral research training in the basic biomedical sciences, in NIH intramural research laboratories, to a diverse group of postdoctoral fellows to prepare them for leadership positions in biomedical careers. The research projects proposed should focus on NIGMS mission-related areas of basic biomedical science. These include cell biology, biophysics, genetics, developmental biology, pharmacology, physiology, biological chemistry, computational biology, technology development and bioinformatics. Studies employing model organisms are encouraged.

L'Oreal USA - USA Fellowships -- Fellowships for Women in Science  
The L’Oréal USA For Women in Science fellowship program annually recognizes and rewards five U.S.-based women researchers for their outstanding contributions in science, technology, engineering and math fields. Recipients receive up to $60,000 each for their postdoctoral research.

National Institutes of Health - NIH Pathway to Independence Award (Parent K99/R00) -- AIDS  The purpose of the NIH Pathway to Independence Award (K99/R00) program is to increase and maintain a strong cohort of new and talented, NIH-supported, independent investigators. Pfizer Inc. - ASPIRE Awards in Hemophilia Research
