COMMON LOAN QUESTIONS:
When will I hear about my eligibility for loans?
You will not be notified of any loan eligibility unless or until you are accepted by the Graduate School. Until then, students may estimate their loan eligibility on their own by completing our AFFORDABILITY WORKSHEET (see next question). Once enrollment is confirmed, the student will receive access to the Brown network, including billing and financial records. The student will be able to accept any loans that s/he may wish to borrow at that time.
Determining your eligibility on your own…..
Students who must make enrollment decisions prior to hearing about loan eligibility may determine their eligibility for loans by completing our Affordability worksheet. If you have any questions or concerns, feel free to email the Office of Financial Aid for Graduate Students.
I submitted my FAFSA but was not offered loans when I gained access to my financial aid award . Why?
If you do not have any loans in offered status to you at selfservice.brown.edu then chances are we did not receive your FAFSA application, or your data did not load properly. Please email the Office of Financial Aid for Graduate Students for assistance.
