Job Transfers

Brown University is committed to investing in the professional development of its staff by offering paths to education and training, and to providing opportunities when business needs, staff career goals and qualifications align.

Staff can apply for transfers and/or promotions through the general hiring process. While employees are encouraged to remain in a position for one year to build a record of good work performance, they may apply for opportunities through Brown's online employment system at any point. It's important to note that employees who are transferred or promoted through this process will serve a new probationary period. For more information on job transfers see policy 20.021.
