The Brown Global ForumsProfessor Kenneth Wong visits Zhejiang University on a Global Forums exchange.
The Brown Global Forums is an initiative of the Office of International Affairs (IA) to foster closer research ties between Brown and select partner institutions through a short-term faculty exchange program. The Forums provide Brown faculty with the chance to meet face-to-face with potential collaborators on their home campuses and network with a wider range of scholars, with the goal of fostering a meaningful and sustainable collaboration.
Activities
Each year, Brown and the partner institution will invite one to two faculty members from the other institution to visit one another’s campus for one week. Activities include at least one mandatory lecture, workshops, classroom visits, meals, and meetings with colleagues. Brown departments are the primary hosts for visitors, develop the visitor’s agenda while on campus, and provide primary administrative support for individual trips.
Funding
The exchange is funded by both the IA and the partner institution.
For Brown faculty going abroad: The IA will fund airfare to the host institution. The hosting institution provides housing and meals for one week for Brown faculty once they have arrived at the hosting institution. Please note that either Brown departments or traveling Brown faculty will be expected to cover their own miscellaneous expenses, such as food during "travel days", visas, parking, taxis, and tolls.
For partner institution faculty visiting Brown: The foreign institution pays airfare. The IA funds accommodations on or near campus and meals for one week.
Apply
Interested Brown faculty applicants should send the completed application form, which can be found at the bottom of this page, to Diana Perdomo.
