From understanding climate history to planning for a sustainable future, Brown faculty and students apply scientific expertise, social innovation, and personal engagement in dozens of field sites across the globe.
Environment-related courses and research projects dealing with global environmental issues are offered in many departments, while the Environmental Change Initiative and the Center for Environmental Studies provide a central focus for such activities. The scientific and social issues surrounding climate change challenge Brown and the world to a new level of international collaboration and response.
