The annual Staff Appreciation Art Exhibit is now on view at the Granoff Center for the Creative Arts at 154 Angell Street. The exhibit will run through February 13th, culminating in a public reception on Feb. 13, 5:00 - 7:00.

After Hours: Annual Staff Appreciation Art Exhibit features work by a few of the many talented staff members at Brown. The Annual Staff Exhibit was originally conceived by Shayna Zema, class of 2015, and now in its second year continues to be a favorite show.

Staff from across the university engage in creative, thoughtful, and expressive endeavors that are often unseen by coworkers and the greater Brown community. This year, the Creative Arts Council is pleased to present artwork by nineteen staff members in media ranging from textiles to ceramics and beyond. Inspired by their surroundings, personal interests, and daily encounters, these works provide a glimpse of the creativity embedded throughout Brown.

Associate curator Sophia LaCava-Bohanan commented “the show is a wonderful opportunity to recognize the artistic vision of Brown University staff members and garner a deeper appreciation for the rich skills often unseen during typical work hours. It has been a pleasure to work with Brown staff in a new capacity to develop this exhibition.”

The Creative Arts Council would like to thank all of the participating artists including: Nancy Baker, Linda Covington, Carol Ann Cutler, Esther Escotto, Olanda Estrada, Stephen Gervais, Luis Gonzalez, Stephanie Han, Liane Livi, Jeanne Lowenstein, Juli Mahoney, Tracey Maroni, Peter Neivert, Lisa Noble, Stacey Pettella, Saundra Patrick, Katerina Stepanova, Geoff Williams, and Kenneth Zirkel.

A public reception will be held on Thursday, February 13, from 5:00 – 7:00. Work may be viewed now through February 13th, Monday through Friday 9:00 am – 10:00 pm, Saturdays 12:00 pm to 6:00 pm, and Sundays 12:00 pm – 8:00 pm.
